ShareWatch

The Windows operating system includes a feature to allow other network users to access your hard disk folders, partitions, files and so on. This feature is called sharing and normally requires a username and password. Unfortunately, when installing Windows for the first time, the "administrative sharing" will be automatically activated. This type of sharing automatically shares all the hard disk partitions and, even though these partitions will not be listed when accessing that specific computer, a hacker would still be able to access them by entering the sharing path manually.

To avoid this and to make sharing more practical, the ShareWatch application was lunched. This Windows program allows you to view the list of shared folders or partitions and easily remove any of them or add new ones. The program does not need installing and it's enough to run the executable downloaded from the producer's website.

After launching the application, the user will quickly see all his shared folders and partitions, well organized. By clicking on any of them, one will be able to remove it from the share and will make it inaccessible to any computer user. What's more, ShareWatch can even display only the shares used by network users and can also display which computer is accessing a particular file or folder in real time.
